Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) form a legal agreement between you and ITjustworks Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”), a company registered in England and Wales under company number 16645618 (registered office: 113 Romford Road, London, United Kingdom, E15 4LY), and govern your use of The Holy Quran mobile application (the “App”). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

These Terms are specific to The Holy Quran app. They are separate from the terms governing ITjustworks Ltd’s website and professional services. Where you obtained the App from the Apple App Store, they supplement Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement, and Apple’s terms prevail on Apple-specific matters. Where you obtained the App from Google Play, they supplement the Google Play Terms of Service.

1. Licence

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App on any device that you own or control, subject to the usage rules of the store you obtained it from: the App Store Usage Rules, or the Google Play Terms of Service. This licence is for your own personal, non-commercial use.

2. The App and its content

The App provides the Arabic text of the Holy Quran together with optional translations, commentary (tafsir), word-by-word data, and recitation audio. Much of this content is obtained from third-party sources, including the Quranic Universal Library and the Tanzil Project, and recitation audio is streamed from third-party audio services. While we take care to present this content faithfully, we do not author it and cannot guarantee that it is free from error.

3. Religious content disclaimer

The Quranic text, translations, transliterations, commentary, and audio are provided for personal study and convenience on an “as is” basis. Translations and tafsir represent the interpretations of their respective authors and sources, and may differ from one another. The App is not a substitute for learning from, or seeking guidance from, qualified scholars. You should verify any matter of religious importance with a knowledgeable and trustworthy authority. We accept no responsibility for reliance placed on any translation, interpretation, or recitation provided through the App.

4. Subscriptions and in-app purchases

The App may be downloaded and used free of charge with a set of core features. Additional “Premium” features may be offered through an optional in-app purchase or subscription. Where subscriptions are offered:

All payments are processed by the store you obtained the App from: by Apple through your App Store account, or by Google through your Google Play account. We never receive or store your payment card details.
Subscriptions are auto-renewing. Unless cancelled, your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, and your payment method is charged the then-current price.
You can manage or cancel your subscription, and turn off auto-renewal, at any time. On iPhone and iPad, in Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions. On Android, in the Google Play app › Menu › Subscriptions, or at play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
If a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where applicable.
Prices are shown in your own local currency, as set by the store for your region. They may vary by region and may change; we will seek your agreement to price increases where required.
Refunds are handled by the store you purchased through: by Apple in accordance with App Store policy, or by Google in accordance with the Google Play refund policy. Your statutory rights are unaffected.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

copy, redistribute, resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the App or its content except as expressly permitted;
reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by applicable law;
use the App in any unlawful manner or in any way that could damage, disable, or impair it.

6. Intellectual property

The App, including its design, interface, software, and original artwork, is owned by ITjustworks Ltd and is protected by intellectual-property laws. Quranic text and third-party translations, tafsir, and audio remain the property of their respective owners and are used in accordance with their terms. Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership rights to you.

7. Disclaimers

The App is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that content will always be accurate or available, including where third-party services are unavailable.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, and your mandatory statutory rights as a consumer are not affected (including, in the UK, your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015).

9. Changes

We may update the App and these Terms from time to time. Material changes to these Terms will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

10. Termination

These Terms apply until terminated. Your licence ends automatically if you fail to comply with them. You may end it at any time by deleting the App.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Where you use the App as a consumer, you benefit from any mandatory protections of the law of your country of residence, and may bring proceedings there where applicable.

12. Store-specific terms

If you obtained the App from the Apple App Store. You acknowledge that these Terms are between you and ITjustworks Ltd only, and not with Apple Inc. (“Apple”), and that Apple is not responsible for the App or its content. Accordingly:

Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the App.
In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price (if any); to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App.
Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the App, including product-liability, regulatory, or intellectual-property claims; such claims are governed by these Terms and handled by ITjustworks Ltd.
You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as “terrorist-supporting”, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, upon your acceptance, have the right to enforce them against you.

If you obtained the App from Google Play. These Terms are between you and ITjustworks Ltd only, and not with Google LLC (“Google”). Google is not a party to these Terms, is not responsible for the App or its content, and provides no warranty or support for it. Your download and any purchase are additionally governed by the Google Play Terms of Service, and refunds are administered by Google under its own policy.
